Associations

The Matadors "sold their souls" to the Devil - represented by the Lucifarian Brotherhood of Baphomet.

FYI

Joel Parkins' guitar "literally catches fire during some of his scintillating licks"

Jeff Sheppard rides his
doghouse bass like a "possessed demon" and spends more time on the instrument than on the stage.

On Valentine's Day 2004 I was unexpectedly blindsided by this band from London, Ontario called "The Matadors". Described as Horrobilly, Gothibilly or Psychobilly, The Matadors have one key element that sets them apart from most other music (in my opinion) in this sub-culture of Rockabilly / Punk / Goth music: Talent! My suspicions were confirmed in the past 2 shows I have seen them in, and in listening to the newly purchased CDs I own. The Matadors music, from their more well known "The Evil Eye" to their recent ballad "Burning Desire" is reminiscent of 50's rock on acid or X. The Matadors truly are performers for this generation.
