Calling the Quarters
Calling the quarters, or invoking the elements balances the circle, draws power to the circle, and provides protection during the ritual:
For each element, Face the direction from which you are calling as you invoke, light the elemental candle and draw an invoking pentagram with the wand.
Hail to the guardians of the watchtowes of the east, of air, breath of life. I invoke thee to witness my rites and guard this circle.
Hail to the guardians of the watchtowers of the south, of fire, warmth that brings life. I invoke thee to witness my rites and guard this circle.
Hail to the guardians of the watchtowers of the west, of water, sustainer of life. I invoke thee to witness my rites and guard this circle.
Hail to the guardians of the watchtowers of the north, of earth, giver of life. I invoke thee to witness my rites and guard this circle.
